Our Staff Framework sets out the four job families which reflect the primary purpose of roles within Natural England, namely Executive, Management, Delivery and Environmental specialists. All play a defining role in the development of Natural England.
The purpose of a job family is to enable Natural England to:

Enable staff to plan their personal development in line with their career aspirations. Our approach to learning and development is designed to give you access to a range of development options that will help you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that you’ll need to work effectively both now and in the future.
Each job family has been divided into generic roles and these are illustrated in the following diagram:
