The Third Sector
The Third sector is invaluable to our delivery and the work that we do.
We have worked with the Environment Agency
and the Forestry Commission to produce a joint statement on our work with the Third Sector. The sector includes the voluntary bodies, not for profit organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's) and social enterprises.
This statement supports Defra's Third Sector Strategy, published in 2008 which draws on the Compact. The Compact is an agreement between Government and the voluntary and community sector in England. It recognises shared values, principles and commitments and sets out guidelines for how both parties should work together.
