Natural England - Coastal access in Norfolk: Weybourne to Sea Palling

Coastal access in Norfolk: Weybourne to Sea Palling

Work is underway on proposals for improved public access along a stretch of the Norfolk coast between Weybourne and Sea Palling. We expect the new access to be ready at some time during 2014.

Officers from Norfolk County Council are working closely with us to develop the proposals in consultation with local interests and providing expert local advice.

Latest update – March 2012

We have now visited all the land on this stretch of coast that is likely to be affected by our proposals and discussed the options in detail with people who own or manage the land.

If you are the owner or occupier of land which you believe may be affected - or have another legal interest in the land (for example common or sporting rights) - and we have not yet spoken to you, please get in touch so that we can listen to your views. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Public consultation

The next step is to prepare our draft proposals for public consultation. We aim to start the public consultation in summer 2012. The period for submitting comments will last for 12 weeks. Any member of the public will be able to comment.

At the start of the consultation, we will write to local organisations and to all the owners and occupiers of the affected land of whom we are aware, inviting them to comment.

The draft proposals will be published here on our website and advertised in a local newspaper. We will also place copies of our draft proposals in council offices, libraries and Tourist Information Centres in the local area for people to view.
