These 'hangers' (woods growing on the sides of steep hills) are an important landscape feature of the Petersfield area in east Hampshire.

Location and access

The NNR is 4.5 km north of Petersfield. Access to the reserve is difficult as it can only be reached by narrow lanes, or unmade tracks. Once at the site access remains difficult, with steep terrain and a chalk and clay surface, although there are some footpaths.

There is limited wheelchair access to two areas of the reserve. Keys must be obtained to visit these areas.

Facilities

Toilets and refreshments are available in local villages.
