Foxley Wood NNR is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's premier woodland reserve, the largest remaining ancient woodland in the county. The site is a very good example of how an ancient woodland can be restored following coniferisation.

Although most NNRs are managed by Natural England, 88 are wholly or partly managed by other bodies approved by Council, under Section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Foxley Wood NNR is owned and managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

The reserve is 22 km north west of Norwich, one km north east of Foxley village on the A1067.
By car, access is via the minor road from Foxley to the village of Themelthorpe, 0.5 km to the north east.
There is a car park at the entrance of the reserve. There is a mainline train station in Norwich. Bus services from Norwich along the A1067 are provided by First Group. Route one of the Sustrans National Cycle Network passes through the village of Bintree, three km to the north west.
The nearest toilet and refreshment facilities are in local villages.
There are waymarked nature trails through the reserve and an information point.
