Moor House – Upper Teesdale: seasonal highlights

The wild scenery of Moor House – Upper Teesdale can be enjoyed all year round, including winter when its hardy landscapes are amazing.

Highlights to look out for:

Late April to early June - Spring gentian and other artic- alpine plants.

April and May – look out for displaying birds, including black grouse June to early July – the hay meadows are at their best

July and August – look out for the yellow flowers of Shrubby cinquefoil

August - heather makes the moorlands shimmer with purple.

Winter - whenever there’s been a big snow melt or after heavy rain, the High/Low Force and Cauldron Snout waterfalls are at their best.
