There are plenty of ways to get involved with the reserve.
We host a varied year-round events programme. Events take place during the school holidays or at weekends, and offer the chance to have a go at different activities and discover more about the fantastic wildlife found at North Walney.
Come along for a guided walk, have a go at pond-dipping or do your bit to make a difference at a beach clean.
For full details, please check out the events page.
See our school and community groups page for information about how we organise and deliver curriculum-linked school trips to the nature reserve.
See also the Information for students and teachers pages of the website.
We are currently recruiting community outreach volunteers to assist with our educational group work and events. Volunteers need no special knowledge, but should be confident working with both adults and children. Please note that all volunteers are subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.
Visit our section on volunteering with Natural England.
Please contact Gemma Blackburn, the Community Outreach Adviser on 07786 482884 or email gemma.blackburn@naturalengland.org.uk for more information on any of the opportunities above.
