16 National Nature Reserves across five counties.
Each region has an outstanding variety of wildlife habitats and the best examples of these are protected as National Nature Reserves.
Visitors are welcome on our NNRs because we want people to experience and appreciate these wonderful places. NNRs are open all year round, all ages are welcome and entry is free. Many of the reserves have a programme of events, often designed around seasonal highlights.
Check the events list for East Midlands NNRs in 2012. Read more about the reserves in the leaflet East Midlands National Nature Reserves
.
The region covers Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire and the Peak District.
