Leics Landscapes Matter photo competition

Natural England is pleased to announce the launch of the 2010 Leicestershire Landscapes Matter Photography Competition.

Natural England, the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), the East Midlands Regional Landscape Partnership, Leicestershire County Council and Leicester Shire Promotions areĀ launching a competition to promote the varied and distinctive landscape character of Leicestershire.

The competition hasĀ four categories, based on the different regional landscape character types within Leicestershire, broadly grouped as:

  1. Valleys and Vales

  2. Farmlands

  3. Wolds

  4. Woods and Forests

The competition categories are based on the various regional landscape character types covering Leicestershire. A landscape character type describes a distinct and recognisable pattern of elements that occurs consistently in a particular type of landscape.
