Cartmel Surgery in Cumbria has signed up to Natural England’s Walking for Health programme designed to encourage people to go out walking.
In August, Cartmel Surgery will start weekly health walks in and around Cartmel. Janice Longmire, Practice Manger at Cartmel Surgery comments, “The walks will start from Cartmel Race Course every Tuesday from the 17th August and will start at 11am for about an hour. Regular walking will help to keep your heart 'strong', reduce blood pressure, give you more energy and can help to reduce stress which can all help to give a better night’s sleep. Also we can’t forget that these walks are a great social outing as well so we’d love people to come along to get fit.”
“We are so lucky living in such a beautiful part of Cumbria that we would love to encourage more people to step out and visit what is on their door step.”
If you would like to find out more about the walks or how to become a volunteer please contact Janice Longmire by telephone on 01539 536366.
