A guide to all events taking place in the South West with Natural England involvement.
Free events for farmers and land managers on Environmental Stewardship, catchment sensitive farming and related topics.
Saturday 4th September, 10am - 4pm, Lydiard House & Park, Lydiard Tregoze, Swindon.
Blow away the ‘first day back at school blues’ and join The Great Western Community Forest team at Lydiard Park for a great, free day out at the second annual Woodland Games Festival. The Games will feature a host of unusual sports and fun activities including disc golf, the amazing mobile climbing wall, rock-it-ball, samba football, and wacky bicycles. You can also learn to play the exciting and fast moving sport of Ultimate Frisbee, with national representatives on hand to provide coaching advice.
This free event has been organized by the Great Western Community Forest as part of Natural England’s Green Exercise initiative to encourage people to get out into their local green spaces and think about new and enjoyable ways of keeping active.

Ashwick Manor Farm, Nr Dulverton
A joint event from the Exmoor Hill Farm and Soils for Profit Projects. Topics will include soil management, soil nutrition, use of manures and fertilisers, maximising grass growth, grass utilisation and improving forage quality. The event will include presentations and farm walks.

Charlie Morgan – Independent grasslands specialist

Callybarrett Farm, Bodmin (just off A30, north of Bodmin)
A joint event from the Bodmin Livestock Initiative and Soils for Profit Project. Advice on how to reduce fertiliser bills, improve nitrogen uptake, reduce runoff and improve sward quality. The event will also include demonstrations of soil aerators and GPS technology which Soils for Profit can help access grant aid towards.
